I was tasked with redesigning the homepage of ProImprover, a B2B platform that connects construction contractors and subcontractors. The goal was to improve usability, clarify their value proposition, and create a more engaging user experience.

Original Design Assessment

I conducted a thorough review of ProImprover's original website to identify areas for improvement. Key issues uncovered included:

  • Heading design: The phrase "Job Done" and other text elements resembled buttons, potentially causing confusion and detracting from the intended message.
  • Text duplication: The content in the clouds repeated information from the accompanying paragraph, leading to redundancy and visual clutter.
  • Overwhelming information: Displaying all the benefits simultaneously can be overwhelming for users, making it difficult to focus on the most relevant points.
  • Icon design: The icons were too detailed for their size, hindering their effectiveness and quick understanding.
  • Most Popular Services: The clickable appearance of the service elements could lead users to expect interactivity, causing confusion when no visible response occurs.

Design considerations

Based on my analysis of the original website and client requirements, I identified several key areas for improvement:

To accommodate the client's request for a video, I decided to make the design of the header simple to prevent visual overload and keep the focus on key information.

I recommended creating personalized sections for contractors and subcontractors to more effectively communicate the unique value propositions for each audience.

Adding these sections would help build trust, address common concerns, and provide social proof, enhancing the overall user experience and driving engagement.
